Voting information will be provided prior to the event and any attempts to circumvent this method will result in disqualification.
When your set is complete, do not loiter on stage. It is important that you clear your gear and yourselves from the stage area as quickly as possible. Staff will be available to help with this.
An isolated set up area will be provided to allow you to configure your gear before getting on stage. Please ensure you make use of this. Late set start times will result in a shorter set. Naturally, extenuating circumstances will be taken into account.
Each set must be between 25 and 30 minutes long. Due to the tight turnaround times we are working to, set times will be strictly adhered to. Our sound technician has been instructed to cut the audio of any band that is disrespecting this requirement and this may result in disqualification.
Covers do not have to be an exact reproduction, we encourage creativity. The purpose of this is to help audience members who are not familiar with you to hear something they are more familiar with in your own style.
There will be No Guest List for any heats or the finals. Band members/artists will be provided with entry wrist bands but fans and those supporting the acts will be expected to purchase a ticket either in advance or on the door.
Despite the competitive nature of a Battle of the Bands, combative behaviour is unacceptable. Support eachother as much as you can and may the best artist win!
Obviously inflamatory language about individuals and groups is not permitted at any time during the event and will result in disqualification and potential ejection from the venue.
Your accompanying responsible adult must purchase an event ticket and be present at the venue throughout your time at the venue.
If you are participating and require an accompanying responsible adult, this adult will be permitted into the venue during sound checks.
We ask that you limit any additional attendees as much as possible during set up and tear down to make life easier for the venue staff and event team.
Those who are under the age of 18 must avoid the bar areas around the venue (both downstairs and upstairs) and must not attempt to illegally purchase alcohol. Attempting to do so will result in your ejection from the venue and, if relevant, disqualification from the event.
Due to the potential for younger fans to be in the audience, we also ask that you consider the profanity used in your set. We understand that mistakes happen and the odd word dropped in by accident happens, but entire songs made up of profanity are likely to be a problem.
